Because dignity doesn’t retire.
We honor aging community members through storytelling, care support, and cultural preservation.
This program uplifts their voices — not as the forgotten, but as the foundation we stand on.
Elders in Cambodia and across diasporic communities are often left unseen—isolated, under-resourced, and carrying generations of untold stories.
The Voices of the Elders Program reconnects society with its roots by delivering real care, preserving legacy, and restoring cultural honor to those who walked before us.
We visit elders in their homes, villages, and community centers to record their life stories—capturing their voices in both Khmer and English.
Each story is transcribed, translated, archived, and published in print and digital form. These stories are shared with families and featured in public exhibitions.
✅ 2025 Target: 100 elder stories recorded across 3 provinces and 1 U.S. community
We deliver monthly essentials—rice, medicine, mobility tools, and hygiene products—to elders without caregivers.
Where needed, we also provide $50–100 microgrants for urgent health or shelter needs.
✅ 2025 Pilot: 200 care packages delivered; 40 wellness grants disbursed
We host intergenerational gatherings at temples, village halls, and schools—where youth listen to elder stories, exchange letters, and perform cultural songs or dances in honor of them.
✅ Example: Phnom Penh “Ancestor Day” event — 75 youth + 30 elders participated in a cultural listening circle
Through partner monks, midwives, and caregivers, we support elders in their final stage of life—offering prayer ceremonies, companionship, and posthumous tribute support for families.
✅ 10 elders received last rites, spiritual care, and legacy photo ceremonies in 2024 pilot
👵 “I remember the mango trees when I had nothing else…”
Meet Mae Sokha, age 86, who lived through the Khmer Rouge, raised 8 children, and still sings lullabies in her sleep. Her full story was recorded in 2025 and now lives in our online library.
We work hand-in-hand with local monks, community nurses, village chiefs, and Cambodian-American youth volunteers.
